Under the general direction of the Manager I, the Analyst III (Public Works Contracting Administrator) performs the most complex and sensitive analytical work related to Public Works contracting and functions as a department-wide technical expert. The incumbent applies advanced critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate intricate procurement processes, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and provide expert guidance to department staff and stakeholders. The position requires statewide travel for job walks, pre-bid meetings, job start meetings, and progress meetings (approximately 20% of the time), requiring adaptability and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. This position provides lead direction on projects and technical assignments but does not exercise formal supervisory authority.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month. For more details about

Working Conditions
  • Work in a modular office setting in the CMD Joint Forces Headquarters Readiness Center (JFRC).
  • CMD provides standard equipment including two monitors, a laptop, and a docking station.
  • Access to the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams with a dedicated Teams phone number.
  • Access to shared printers and copiers located within the general work area.
  • Computers are equipped with various desktop programs and databases to support procurement and administrative functions.
