Position provides support for the Dean of the Beacom School of Business, including calendar management; preparing correspondence, vouchers and reports; organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files; monitoring and responding to emails; scheduling and coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements.
Position requires:
Ability to manage projects and create a broad variety of documents and materials for executives.
Exhibit a high level of professional communication skills to coordinate meetings and activities of the Dean.
Ability to proactively anticipate needs and prioritize incoming issues, requests and inquiries, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Work closely with the Dean to keep the Dean well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, and issues taking place in the internal and external environments.
Good judgment to determine an appropriate course of action (referral or response) to varied situations.
Ability to manage workflow independently and follow through to successful completion.
Must be able to facilitate clear communication and maintain credibility, trust and support between the executive office and internal staff, and with external clients and constituents.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to make travel and logistical arrangements. Knowledge of computer software applications (Excel, Work, Outlook), modern office equipment, practices and procedures.
Preferred qualifications for the position include knowledge of Banner and previous experience as an executive assistant.

Department Description and Cultural Expectations
The Beacom School of Business at The University of South Dakota is a vibrant, internationally accredited business school that has served students since 1927. It is the State's flagship business school and a regional leader with consistently high national rankings. We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented individual for our Executive Assistant to the Dean. The individual will work closely with the Dean, Associate Dean, staff, and faculty.
The Executive Assistant to the Dean provides support for the Dean of the Beacom School of Business, including calendar management; preparing correspondence, vouchers and reports; organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files; monitoring and responding to emails; scheduling and coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements.
