JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs a wide range of secretarial and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the department. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Samaritan Cancer Program offers state-of-the-art, high-energy linear accelerators, which are computer controlled to deliver an extremely precise radiation treatment based on each patient#s customized treatment plan. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience and/or training with computer applications required. Two (2) years experience in a position of similar complexity and responsibility required or equivalent college level course work. Experience and/or training with medical terminology preferred. GSR Radiation Oncology: Typing speed of 35 wpm preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology as well as electronic medical record systems. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Communication - Proficient communication skills in dealing with hospital employees, customers and external organizations. Ability to show tact and professionalism in dealing with a variety of people and to communicate and listen effectively in an appropriate and positive manner. Computer Literacy - Proficient computer skills in department applications.
