Job Description
One of Insight Globals customers is seeking an onsite IT System Administrator to serve as the primary IT point of contact for their San Antonio, TX location, with remote support for Upland, CA. This individual will own day-to-day IT operations, supporting end users, managing Windows-based systems, servers, and storage, and handling basic networking tasks in a Meraki/Cisco environment. The role includes administering Entra ID/Active Directory, Intune, and Microsoft 365, supporting VMware virtualization, monitoring systems and backups, and maintaining endpoint security through patching and updates. The administrator will manage help desk requests, create and maintain documentation, and collaborate closely with site leadership and internal partners, including coordination with the customer on POS-related support. This is a hands-on, onsite role in a compliance-focused environment with an emphasis on ownership, reliability, and continuous learning.
**This role is a 2 month contract, then on a month-to-month basis afterwards.

Skills and Requirements
-46 years of experience as an IT/System Administrator
-Associates Degree in Computer Science or other technical field
-Strong experience in a Windows-based environment
-Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Intune, and Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange)
-Experience supporting and troubleshooting servers and storage systems
-Basic networking experience with Meraki or Cisco (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless)
-Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware
-Experience with VMware virtualization
-Strong communication skills with a customer-facing mindset; comfortable supporting end users and translating technical issues into clear, non-technical language -Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical field
-Experience in a manufacturing and/or medical environment
-Project management experience
-Knowledge of MSP360 backup solutions
-Knowledge of compliance, security standards, and audit support
-Familiarity with cloud storage platforms (AWS or Wasabi)
-VoIP experience (Z3X a plus)
