Primary Purpose:
To provide clerical and administrative support for the ARD process by coordinating meetings, preparing and maintaining confidential special education documentation, and ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient daily campus operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
• High school diploma or GED certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Knowledge of PowerSchool
• Working knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets
• Ability to learn and utilize specialized therapeutic restraint techniques to control student behavior, when appropriate
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
• Proficient skills in typing, word processing, filing and account maintenance
• Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate and trouble-shoot computers and other office equipment
• Secretarial experience in a public education environment preferred
• Ability to use the English language proficiently
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations
• Ability to work within a specified behavior management system
• Ability to communicate effectively orally as well as written expression
Experience:
• One year of clerical experience
• Experience working with students with special needs and students in at-risk situations
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinates and manages all clerical and administrative functions related to ARD meetings, including preparing, organizing, distributing, and maintaining confidential student records, meeting documentation, notices, schedules, and compliance paperwork in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Organize and manage the routine work activities.
- Assist students, teachers and parents as needed.
- Assist in compiling information for preparing various reports.
- Receive incoming calls and route messages to appropriate staff.
- Prepare instructional materials and meeting agendas.
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks.
- Input student data such as monthly/weekly and discipline referrals to client districts
- Keep informed of and comply with state, department, and division policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Treat all staff with dignity, integrity and respect.
- Conduct physical searches as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the campus leadership.
