How you'll contribute
A Switchboard Operator who excels in this role:
- Answers internal and external calls using Cisco phone systems, including both desk phones and computer-based phone software.
- Answers code phones and performs overhead announcements as needed.
- Utilizes TigerText for designated code communications.
- Maintains electronic call documentation, including shift logs, sepsis logs, and code logs.
- Communicates with Security personnel via radio systems.
- Monitors alarm panels for Engineering and panic alarms.
- Makes overhead announcements for sepsis alerts and other approved pages, while minimizing disruptions during night shifts due to patient noise considerations.
- Uses Amion software for on-call communications and documentation of call logs.
- Uses phone software to locate contact information and transfer calls appropriately.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
What we're looking for
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills & Experience:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule: This position supports both 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) schedules, working Wednesday through Sunday.
