Communications Clerk (CV2692-59) - Office of the CEO Division
Communications Clerk

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a highly organized, community-focused Communications Clerk to support internal and external communications, outreach, and administrative functions within the Development & Communications Department. This role helps maintain VOADV's public presence through social media, written communications, event support, and community engagementwhile ensuring consistent messaging aligned with our mission.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced nonprofit environment serving diverse populations.
What You'll Do:
Create and distribute organizational communications (newsletters, flyers, email campaigns, press releases, community announcements)
Maintain and update social media platforms, website content, and communication calendars
Respond to communication inquiries via phone, email, and social media in a professional, timely manner
Support outreach efforts for community events, programs, and fundraising activities
Draft and proofread correspondence, promotional materials, and internal communications
Coordinate printing, mailing, and distribution of outreach materials
Maintain digital photo, video, and marketing files in an organized system
Track communication metrics and assist with basic reporting
Provide administrative support to development, outreach, and leadership staff
Help ensure branding and messaging consistency across all platforms
Assist with event preparation (registration, materials, signage, community engagement activities)
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Need:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred (communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field)
1-2 years of administrative, communications, customer service, or nonprofit experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, social media platforms, and basic website editing
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
Commitment to VOADV's mission and values of social services and community engagement
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (not required)
Ability to lift over 40 lbs
Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel locally for events/outreach as needed
