Administrative Clerk - Development & Communications
Camden County, New Jersey | Full-Time

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a professional, organized, and community-oriented Administrative Clerk to support our Development & Communications team. In this role, you'll help power fundraising activities, donor communications, outreach initiatives, and event coordinationwhile keeping day-to-day department operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do:
Provide administrative support to the Development & Communications department, including front door management
Maintain donor, sponsor, and community partner databases with accurate, timely data entry
Prepare donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, fundraising correspondence, and outreach communications
Support social media updates, newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional materials
Assist with planning and coordination of fundraising events, outreach activities, and community engagement initiatives
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, mailing lists, and presentation materials
Coordinate printing, mailing, and distribution of fundraising/outreach materials
Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries professionally
Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems
Support grant-related tasks, including document preparation and deadline tracking
Track donations, event participation, and communication metrics
Support scheduling, meeting coordination, and calendar management for department staff
Perform general clerical duties (copying, scanning, filing, office support)
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
What You Need:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred (communications, nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, or related field)
1-2 years of administrative, customer service, nonprofit, fundraising, or communications experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, donor database systems, and social media platforms
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Commitment to the mission and values of community-based social services
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (not required)
Ability to lift over 40 lbs
Availability for occasional evening/weekend hours for events; occasional travel for outreach activities
