Multi-Site Swine Operations Manager
SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operation and performance of multiple swine grow-finish and nursery production sites within an assigned Iowa territory. This individual will work directly with contract growers and production partners to ensure optimal animal health, production efficiency, operational consistency, and marketing execution. This is a highly hands-on field leadership role requiring strong swine production knowledge, independent decision-making ability, grower relationship management, and a commitment to achieving production benchmarks and operational goals.
Salary $50,000 and up DOE
Current Openings: 2 territories in Iowa. Territories include a combination of company-owned and contract grower operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine farm visits throughout assigned territory to monitor production performance, animal health, facility conditions, and operational compliance
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with contract growers and production partners
- Provide coaching, training, support, and guidance to growers regarding production protocols, pig flow, biosecurity, and operational expectations
- Monitor production benchmarks including mortality, feed efficiency, average daily gain (ADG), and overall herd performance
- Identify and troubleshoot production, health, environmental, or operational concerns and communicate findings to senior leadership and veterinary staff as necessary
- Ensure all farms maintain proper biosecurity standards and animal care practices
- Coordinate and communicate pig flow and marketing schedules throughout assigned territory
- In certain territories, assist with market hog selection, sorting, and spray marking of market-ready animals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous commercial swine production experience required
- Experience with grow-finish and/or nursery production strongly preferred
- Multi-site production oversight or service management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of swine health, pig flow, production benchmarks, and livestock management practices
- Practical livestock handling and animal evaluation skills requiredPQA certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial swine production background with the ability to independently oversee multiple production sites while building productive relationships with growers and production partners. Candidates with previous swine integrator, service manager, or production supervisor experience are especially encouraged to apply.
