In our time of Company growth, we are seeking an Eye Care Office Manager.
Work Location: Bradenton, FL
As part of this role, you will:
Optical & Clinical Support
- Provides friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times to all patients, visitors, co-workers, and leaders to provide an Exceptional Experience to Everyone, Every Time.
- Fit and measure frames on the patient for the proper size
- Maintain/monitor frame and lens inventories
- Track Rx orders
- Edge and manufactured lens
- Read and interpret eyeglass prescriptions
- Dispense glasses to patients
- Complete minor eyeglass repairs
- Quote patient benefits via the appropriate portal
- Triage patients and give a brief description of presenting problems, meeting all documentation requirements
- Perform preliminary tests to assist the Optometrist with the eye exam
- Perform additional testing when prescribed by the Optometrist
- Coordinate the exam room supply order
- Oversee and ensure appropriate instrument sterilization
- Answer patient inquiries related to pain and/or medications as needed
- Check-in and check-out patients, answer the telephone, and verify personal information/insurance for billing/collection purposes as needed
- Maintain and coordinate the mobile vision unit
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but we will accept 5 years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
- Certification at one of the following levels: COA, COT, COMT, CPO, CPOA, CPO is preferred
- At least 5 years' experience in vision office management and staff scheduling required
- At least 1 year of experience with medical optometry coding is preferred
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
- Experience with optical inventory software preferred
- Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency required
