Job Summary and Purpose
The CGS Regional Office Manager performs complex office management duties, including accounting, administrative, and technical support for the regional program. This role assists The Commonwealth Governor's School Executive Superintendent and Regional Director, and serves as a community liaison, facilitating effective communication between sites, divisions, families, and regional staff.
Work Objectives/Essential Functions
Serve as the Financial Manager for The Commonwealth Governor’s School.
- Oversee complex financial operations and ensure effective stewardship of state and special project funds
- Develop and manage the annual state-funded budget
- Supervise payroll, reimbursements, purchasing, contracts, and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records and compliance documentation
- Prepare financial reports for the Governing Board, fiscal agent, and Virginia Department of Education
- Manage SIS financial transactions
- Coordinate vendor procurement and purchasing
- Process and obtain approval for invoices and expenditures
- Support annual audit preparation while ensuring all fiscal operations align with state guidelines and organizational needs
Serve as the Office Manager for The Commonwealth Governor’s School, overseeing regional office operations.
- Serve as clerk to the Governing Board
- Provide administrative support to regional staff
- Manage regional and program data, including annual graduate data and related records
- Prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and official documents
- Maintain records, directories, inventories, and reporting systems
- Support program activities through travel to sites and participation in after-hours events as needed
- Coordinate dual enrollment registration and financial processes
- Develop and distribute informational and promotional materials
- Manage communication through the Student Information System (SIS)
- Provide stakeholders with information regarding CGS policies, procedures, and programs
- Support staff, faculty, PTO, advisory committees, and alumni relations

Education and Experience
Education Attainment (Required):
High school diploma or its equivalent
Education Attainment (Preferred):
Coursework or training in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant Experience (Required):

- At least One (1) year of experience supporting school-based accounting functions or activity funds is preferred.
