The Idaho Department of Lands ( IDL ) is seeking a full-time Administrative Support Manager, Policy & Administration. This position will be located at our Directors Staff Office in Boise, Idaho.

Description
This position is embedded within the Directors Office and plays a central role in supporting the Idaho Department of Lands ( IDL ) engagement with the Idaho State Board of Land Commissioners (Land Board), legislative processes, and agency-wide policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy & Governance Leadership
+ Leads and coordinates agency rulemaking processes, including timeline development, stakeholder coordination, and alignment with statutory requirements
+ Interprets and applies laws, policies, and administrative rules to support agency decision-making
+ Ensures Land Board processes and materials meet governance, legal and procedural standards
Executive-Level Coordination & Decision Support
+ Develops and synthesizes complex information into clear, decision-ready materials for the Director and Land Board
+ Coordinates preparation of Land Board meeting agendas, briefings, and supporting documentation across multiple divisions
+ Exercises delegated authority in responding to inquiries and advancing decisions with established parameters
Cross-Agency Project Management
+ Leads complex, multi-division projects with firm, non-negotiable deadlines tied to Land Board and legislative schedules
+ Establishes timelines, expectations, and accountability across contributing staff
+ Ensures accuracy, completeness, and quality control of agency materials.
Stakeholder Communication & Issue Management
+ Responds to legislative, Land Board, and external stakeholder inquiries with professionalism and sound judgment
+ Navigates sensitive or high-visibility issues requiring discretion and strong interpersonal skills
Organizational Leadership & Influence
+ Serves as a member of the management team and contributes to operational and strategic discussions
+ Influences outcomes across divisions without direct authority
+ May supervise staff and/or manage budget components depending on assignment
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of policy development, interpretation, and implementation process, including the ability to understand and apply statues, administrative rules, and organizational policies
