Purchasing Clerk Job Description The Purchasing Clerk will work with a team of seven individuals in a fast-paced environment. The primary role includes answering phones, collecting pertinent information for issuing purchase orders to field technicians, service managers, account managers, and project managers across all offices, and entering them in a timely manner. Responsibilities Accurately enter a high volume of alpha and numeric data into Edge, a web-based program. Entry of purchase orders, subcontracts, change order requests, etc. Acquire necessary information for new vendor and subcontractor setup. Invoice research, follow-up, and entry. Respond to questions from vendors and coworkers at all levels, including management. Assume any other job responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the department or company. Call vendors for invoice collection. Assist management and purchasing agents with additional duties as needed. Essential Skills High school graduate or equivalent. Basic computer skills with a minimum of 2 years of data entry experience. Typing speed of 40 wpm minimum. Self-motivated. Detail-oriented and well-organized. Ability to multi-task and work independently. Capability to handle large amounts of paperwork in a busy environment with many distractions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Microsoft Excel experience is a plus but not required. Experience in purchasing, data entry, purchase order management, Microsoft Office, and inventory management. Experience in administrative support and customer service. Work Environment The role operates in an office environment with working hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
