Job Description
This is a 1 st shift position working 12 hour shifts in the inpatient unit with 12 hours per week. No weekend requirements. The position requires multi tasking and the applicant can be cross-trained to other functions. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Prior Unit Clerk experience desired
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties such as answering the phone and directing calls
- Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors
- Maintain accurate and updated patient charts and electronic records
- Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in the system
- Order and maintain unit supplies and equipment as directed
- Collaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflow
- Monitor and relay messages between physicians, nurses, and other departments
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Basic data entry and computer skills
