Summary:

The claims administrator position exists to process and issue payment for policyholder's documented claims for damaged, lost or pilfered shipments.

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Date stamp and verify submitted claims and supporting documents to approve or deny claims.
  • Monitor claims for which premium payments have not been received
  • Issue and follow up on requests for missing documentation
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status and investigation of claims
  • Work with brokers regarding coverage issues
  • Date stamp and verify MTR claims and forward to carrier partner
  • Review claims on hold and follow up on needed information to approve or deny
  • Prepare approved claims for payment
  • Salvage maintenance
    • Issue call tags for damaged goods
    • Maintain inventory of salvage received
    • Arrange for profitable disposal of salvage
  • File and store claims according to document retention guidelines
  • Review monthly bank statements and follow up on claim checks that have not cleared
  • Participate in general office duties such as kitchen duties, other customer support calls, opening mail, scanning documents

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Individual must obtain resident adjuster license within 90 days of start date and must complete all non-resident adjust license requirements within 6 months of start date.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • 1 - 3 years experience in a similar position

Preferred

  • Property and casualty license in your state of residence
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a business or financial-related discipline
