The Main Office Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the district's front office operations. This position is responsible for handling communications, maintaining records and providing exceptional customer service to staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders. The Main Office Clerk ensures the smooth and efficient daily operations of the district office in a professional and organized manner.
Performance Responsibilities/Essential Functions • Greet staff, parents, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, data entry, photocopying, and scanning.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and databases.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
• Support administrators with general tasks.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with district policies.
• Provide backup support to other office personnel as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized office environment.

• Demonstrates consistent punctuality and reliability.
• Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with district standards.
• Upholds confidentiality and discretion in all related matters.

Other Duties
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Terms of Employment 11-month employee Communication Skills Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The role requires the ability to compile and interpret data accurately, summarize information effectively, and prepare comprehensive reports for supervisors. Proficiency in using telecommunication systems to exchange information accurately is also required. The position involves successful communication with students, teachers, parents, school personnel, and the community.

Professional Conduct Employees are expected to uphold a high standard of professional conduct. Breaches of professional conduct include but are not limited to, neglect of duty, dishonesty, engaging in activities contrary to Zachary Community School District policy, involvement in unlawful activities, or any conduct that seriously prejudices the school system. Technological Abilities Proficiency in computer usage, including email for communication, is essential for successful job performance. Additionally, familiarity with job-specific equipment, software, and applications is required.
Physical Involvement The role involves frequent standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Candidates must be able to travel to various locations and move freely within work sites. Additionally, sufficient visual acuity is necessary to work with computer monitors and to read and interpret handwritten documents. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Clerical experience in a school or office setting preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
