Venue Summary

The Dayton Convention Center (DCC) is the region's premier mid-sized event facility conveniently situated right in the heart of downtown Dayton. Located within a 600-mile radius of close to 70% of the nations population and steps from the vibrant Oregon Entertainment District, the 150,000 sq. ft. DCC offers 77,000 sq. ft of column-free exhibition space and 22 meeting rooms including a 750 seat, full stage theater. Managed by ASM Global and owned and developed by the Montgomery County Convention Facilities Authority, the DCC is in the process of completing a major renovation to its facility that will serve to reinforce its status as the venue of choice for the region.

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Administrative Receptionist at the Dayton Convention Center. The Administrative Receptionist is responsible assisting customers, clients, events staff, tenants, employees, and the public by operating a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls, providing information, and delivering any other customer service needed, by performing the following duties.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Retrieves messages from voicemail and forwards them to appropriate personnel.

  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.

  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.

  • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, information about events at the facility and other information.

  • Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, announces visitors to appropriate personnel, directs visitors as needed.

  • Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.

  • Operates radio dispatch system as needed.

  • Update electronic building signage systems.

  • Updates appointment calendars.

  • Manages & schedules boardroom calendar.

  • Manages supplies for the employee breakroom.

  • Updates DCC calendar of events on DCC website.

  • Attend meetings and take minutes as needed.

  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications.

  • Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.

  • Creates correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.

  • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, typing, photocopying, and collating.

  • Assists all Departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to type 35-40 wpm preferred.

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to work unsupervised and to function both independently and as a team member.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software. Knowledge of Spreadsheets helpful. Ability to navigate internets sites proficiently to aid clients with questions.
