Receptionist & Switchboard Overview
Provides exceptional service to the business by greeting and assisting all visitors and by answering and transferring incoming calls from across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner.
Distribute name badges to visitors, temporary employees, and others.
Schedule meeting rooms for internal and external use.
Answer and transfer incoming calls from across the U.S.
Participate enthusiastically in company and community service events.
Perform light administrative duties and PC support as needed.
Serve as a model for the company's Vision, Values, and Mission.
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal teams.
Maintain and update:
Company phone and speed dial lists
Brag Board
Company calendar
Update the automated messaging center daily.
Assist other departments with tasks such as:
Creating envelope labels
Compiling manuals
Ordering, maintaining, and distributing promotional items for the Promotional Store
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of prior switchboard or receptionist experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Clear and professional verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Standard office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and typical noise levels.
- Work assignments are varied and may require interpreting and applying complex information.
- Primarily sedentary work, with occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
- Moderate dexterity required for regular use of office tools (e.g., keyboard, calculator, hand tools).
