Come be a part of helping the Ohio Department of Development transform communities through business and local incentive programs. The Business Incentives Administrator will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the Ohio Qualified Energy Project program, among others, which provides assistance to energy projects with significant economic impact in their communities.

Some of the things you'll do...

  • Provide financial, technical and administrative assistance for policy, planning, design and implementation of business and energy incentive programs such as the Qualified Energy Project, SiteOhio and Rural Business Growth programs to ensure adherence to established program guidelines and compliance with legislation, regulations and policies.
  • Review incentive program related documents (e.g., program guidelines and instructions, financial records, progress reports).
  • Oversee administration of award cycles, including all aspects of soliciting applications.
  • Review applications for compliance and eligibility to make recommendations to division and agency leadership.
  • Oversee administration of tax credit and tax exemption awards and award management process from award to certification/close-out.
  • Provide information or recommendations to applicants (e.g., requirements and conditions, assuring that project expenditures are appropriate and necessary).
  • Make budget revisions or program modifications that may require prior approval.
  • Review and approve reports such as progress reports or program status reports, or completion reports.
  • Provide technical assistance to prospective applicants (e.g., eligibility requirements, application requirements, reporting requirements, program award operation).
  • Coordinate with program partners at Ohio Department of Taxation and Ohio Department of Insurance, as well as local community officials.
  1. Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, city and regional planning, business administration, political science

or related area OR Equivalent work experience.

  1. Experience in program and/or project administration.

  2. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with experience dealing with many types of people at various levels.

  3. Computer proficiency with experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software required.

  4. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various sites around Ohio.
