Job Description

Veterinary Assistant - Responsibilities Include:

  • Restraining animals safely and compassionately

  • Triage of incoming patients and assisting in exams

  • Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, skin)

  • Performing diagnostic imaging and radiographs

  • Providing nursing care to hospitalized or medical patients

  • Preparing for surgery, assisting during procedures, and managing anesthesia

  • Administering medications and treatments as directed

  • Effectively communicating treatment plans with clients

Veterinary Receptionist - Responsibilities Include:

  • Greeting clients and managing patient check-in and check-out

  • Answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments

  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate medical records

  • Handling prescription requests and coordinating with veterinary staff

  • Supporting clients with empathy, especially during emotionally challenging visits

  • Keeping the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience (veterinary preferred)

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking

  • Professional, compassionate demeanor under pressure

  • Familiarity with veterinary software and procedures a plus

  • Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience required

  • Surgical assistance experience preferred

  • Strong work ethic and a positive team-focused attitude

  • Skilled in patient restraint, lab procedures, and radiography

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally

  • Ability to handle odors, noises, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases

  • Comfortable with occasional exposure to bites or scratches
