General Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive CAD Administrator to support and manage the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Autodesk tools including Plant 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, and Inventor. This role is essential in ensuring optimal performance of CAD systems, maintaining standards, providing user support, and facilitating project collaboration across design and engineering teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer, maintain, and support Autodesk software platforms: AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, and Inventor.

Set up and manage CAD and BIM standards, templates, and libraries to ensure consistency across projects.

Perform software installation, configuration, licensing, and updates across multiple workstations or in a networked environment.

Develop and manage project templates, tool palettes, custom content, and databases (e.g., Plant 3D specs/catalogs).

Manage file naming conventions, folder structures, and drawing/document control procedures.

Collaborate with project managers and engineering leads to integrate CAD standards into project execution plans.

Develop custom and innovative tools to solve problems and help advance the practice of design.

Work with cutting edge technology in engineering, design, fabrication and field engineering to advance the integration of tools and methods across user groups.

Monitor and improve CAD system performance and recommend upgrades or changes to software/hardware infrastructure.

Provide technical support and training to designers, engineers, and drafters.

Troubleshoot CAD issues, optimize workflows, and collaborate with IT for system-level support.

Maintain accurate documentation of CAD workflows, guidelines, user manuals, and system configurations.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation and capability growth.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, IT, or related field.

3+ years of experience as a CAD Administrator or in a similar role.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, and Inventor.

Strong knowledge of CAD standards, BIM workflows, and model coordination.

Experience with database-driven design tools, such as Plant 3D spec editor and catalog manager.

Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar CAD data management systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and ability to provide user support and training.

Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in one or more of the supported software.

Experience with scripting/customization using AutoLISP, Python, iLogic, or similar tools.

Familiarity with integrations into Navisworks or other Autodesk ecosystem tools.

Understanding of P&ID workflows, structural detailing, and mechanical design principles.
