Data Entry Clerk @ Transportation

Primary Purpose:

Contribute to the efficient operation of the transportation department.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Hold a valid class C driver’s license, CDL preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bilingual preferred
  • Proficient in basic office computer applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to meet established deadlines

Experience:

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Records and Reports
  • Utilize various software platforms such as MS Office to conduct general data entry.
  • Utilize various software platforms to enter employee hours.
  • Handle various types of documents to tabulate data, mileage and hours.
  • Collaborate with payroll and drivers to ensure data and or hours are correct.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, employee correspondence and other documents as required.
  • Comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety guidelines related to office operation.
  • Perform work in a correct, neat, and safe manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Work cooperatively and congenially with other office personnel.

Other

  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
  • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; district vehicle

Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; may work in tiring and uncomfortable positions

Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding; regular grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving

Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (10 - 30 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (30-50 pounds or more)

Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery, hard or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
