Secretary, Academic Dean
The position of a Secretary, Academic Dean will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Ensure efficient operation of the school academic dean's office and provide clerical services for the school's administrative staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and transfer calls to the appropriate academic dean or department.
- Prepare and type reports, documents, correspondences, and campus reports.
- Maintain use of testing center facilities.
- Serve as relief for the high school receptionist.
- Submit and confirm receipt of purchase orders.
- Facilitate and maintain documentation of travel requests and registration for professional development.
- Facilitate all aspects of campus professional development.
- Create and maintain a database for teacher issued materials.
- Coordinate all aspects of the Academic Achievement Awards ceremony.
- Assist faculty and staff with the campus and district assessment program.
- Assist with the Gifted and Talented Program documentation and mail-outs.
- Assist with Campus-wide testing, to include ordering, proctoring, and organizing for TAKS/EOC.
- Assist with the Dual Credit Program, to include maintaining spreadsheet, documentation, and testing.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school graduate or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must possess strong organizational skills
Must possess above average skills in the areas of word processing and the use of spreadsheets (i.e. Word, Excel)
Good spelling and grammar skills
Perform duties with a minimum of supervision
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). May work prolonged or irregular hours. Normal office environment.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 Days
