Role Overview - To provide administrative support, assist, and relieve administration of paperwork and impediments so that they may devote maximum attention to education and educational administration.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma/GED.
Three (3) years' successful secretarial experience and/or secretarial training.
Accurate typing/keyboarding skills.
Demonstrated experience and skill in a variety of relevant software and electronic communication tools, including presentation, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Budget management experience.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced training certificates in related field.
Positive human relations skills including phone, email, and in-person interactions with state agencies, businesses and peers.
Knowledge and commitment to the organizational philosophy, goals and policies of Washington County Public Schools (WCPS).
Role Responsibilities
Ability to work with students and staff to assist with the implementation and delivery of essential curriculum in relation to the mission of Washington County Public Schools.
Manage and register students for their appropriate technical skill assessments.
Schedule all transportation needs for students and staff.
Manage, prepare and register staff for appropriate approved professional development.
Maintain department operational information (financial, statistical, program data), entering and updating data, retrieving and compiling reports.
Set up, modify, and operate computer data systems using standard software programs (spreadsheet, database, graphics, and desktop publishing).
Schedule and participate in program advisory committees, and update program minutes as appropriate.
Develop and maintain communication outlets to promote CTE happenings through social media and news articles.
Maintain high level of confidentiality in conducting office business/assignment
Organizes, plans, and executes work appropriately with minimal supervision.
Research quotes, prepare proposals, and enter purchase orders in the Washington County Public School purchasing system.
Communicate clearly and concisely in written correspondence and oral form.
Make arrangements and prepare materials as needed for appointments, meetings, conferences and workshops.
Prepare, update, and manage CTE inventory reports.
Distribute mail and inter-office correspondence.
Prepare contracts and utilize forms for MSDE reporting, and contracted services as appropriate.
Maintain schedule of appointment and make arrangements for conferences.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Perform other duties specific to the assigned department.
