Alabama State University, Student Affairs/Housing and Residential Life, invites applications to fill the position of Administrative Secretary. The selected candidate, under the supervision of the Director, will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure efficient daily functioning of the Housing Office. This position plays a key role in front desk operations, student engagement support, communication efforts, and supervision of student staff. This role combines front-line service with data-driven decision-making to improve housing operations, occupancy management, and resident satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure consistent front desk coverage and serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, students, and callers Assist with the creation;, coordination, and distribution of flyers, outreach materials, and social media announcements schedule meetings, appointments, and event for Housing Office staff as needed Input purchase requisitions and monitor progress through completion Receive open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and official documents Collect, maintain, and analyze housing related data Monitor housing trends and provide insights to improve occupancy and student satisfaction Perform other duties as assigned An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field, strong organizational and communication skills. Prior experience in higher or student housing preferred. A typing proficiency exam of 40 net words per minute is also required. To be considered for this position, typing proficiency results must be submitted to the ASU Office of Human Resources by the closing date of announcement. Proficiency exams administered by ASU's College of Education, and state Career Service Centers are accepted.
