As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key role in helping the Venango County District Office run smoothly. This position allows you to support employees, assist visitors, and keep essential office tasks on track. This position provides clerical support that helps maintain organized operations in the Venango County Maintenance office. The work supports communication, scheduling, record keeping, and key administrative functions. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Reception: Greet customers in person and by phone and direct inquiries to the correct staff
  • Mail and Fax Handling: Sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, and route faxes and print jobs
  • Meeting Coordination: Organize county events, schedule meetings and trainings, and prepare minutes as needed
  • Records and Files: Maintain electronic and physical files, scan documents, update bulletin boards, and follow records retention rules
  • Workforce Support: Manage tasks related to all management directives, position descriptions, quarterly reviews, and required documentation
  • Backup Assistance: Provide support in workmans comp duties, safety glasses processing, travel arranging, and data entry tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; o r
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • One year or more of previous experience in the clerical field
  • One year or more of experience with Microsoft Office products
  • One year or more of experience in scheduling and coordinating events, meetings, and/or trainings.
  • Two years or more of experience with customer service including answering incoming telephone calls, re-routing calls, and speaking with customer and/or employees that enter the office.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
