This position supports the planning, development, and maintenance of military training lands to keep them safe, effective, and sustainable. The role involves coordination, project oversight, and data-driven decision making across multiple programs and partners. As a Administrative Officer 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Planning: Develop plans and goals for range modernization and long-term training land sustainability
  • Project Coordination: Work with engineers, safety staff, and environmental teams to guide project requirements and standards
  • Data Management: Update databases and track information related to military training land conditions, usage and program funding
  • Resource Allocation: Recommend project priorities and support budget planning for multiple training land programs
  • Field Oversight: Inspect training land areas and supervise field activities to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards
  • Collaboration Efforts: Coordinate with military units, natural resource staff, and outside agencies to support effective training operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

P referred Qualifications (not required):

  • Extensive experience in military training, operations, and range management
  • A thorough understanding of Army training doctrine and safety regulations, specifically TC 25-8 (Training Ranges), AR 385-19 (The Army Sustainable Range Program), AR385-10 (The Army Safety and Occupational Health Program), and AR 385-63 (Range Safety)
  • Licenses, registrations, or certifications:
    • ARNG Garrison Command Leadership Course (GCLC), Fiscal Law Course, and Training Center University (TCU)
  • Proficient in Composite Risk Management (CRM)
  • Experience in the management and long-term stability of military training land and maneuver lands
  • Experience in military range design
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in m ilitary database systems operations
