Job Description

This role provides front-office support in an internal medicine practice, focusing on answering incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and delivering friendly, efficient customer service. The Medical Office Assistant helps ensure that daily office operations run smoothly and that patients receive clear, timely communication.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner and route calls appropriately.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Collect and enter patient information accurately into office systems and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Provide clear information to patients regarding appointment times, office procedures, and basic inquiries.
  • Perform general administrative support duties to assist the internal medicine office staff.
  • Handle data entry tasks with attention to detail and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Support a positive and welcoming experience for patients and visitors in the office.
Essential Skills
  • Experience providing administrative support in an office or similar setting.
  • Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong customer service skills, including clear and courteous communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone calls and appointment requests efficiently.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy medical office environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • No professional license is necessary for this position.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare office environment is helpful but not required.
  • Comfort working with office technology and scheduling systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Work Environment

This position is based in an internal medicine office and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves working on-site in a professional clinical office setting, interacting regularly with patients, clinicians, and administrative staff. The environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, with frequent phone and in-person communication. Typical office attire appropriate for a medical practice is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwich, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
