UPMC Jameson is looking for a Full-Time Telephone Operator who thrives on connecting people and keeping things running smoothly. Training will initially occur across all shifts, followed by a regular schedule of 3:30 PM 11:30 PM on varying days . You'll also lend a hand every other weekend and holidays as needed (no on call or travel required!).
What Youll Do:
Be the friendly, reliable voice on the other end of the lineserving as the main point of contact for patients, visitors, and hospital staff. From everyday calls to urgent situations, youll play an important role in keeping communication flowing across the entire hospital.
Responsibilities:
- May train new operators.
- May be required to do system data entry on request.
- Provide service to multiple answering service clients utilizing individualized protocols.
- Process appropriate emergency code or STAT page.
- Initiate voice pages when required.
- Provide Physician on call information to requesting individuals.
- Use required phrasing at all times when answering telephone calls.
- Provide dialing instructions to patients when requested. Answer multiple lines while maintaining good customer service.
- Determine caller's requirements (extension desired, information requested, etc.) and transfer call.
- Provide status report on any page in progress to the individual requesting the page.
