This role will be located at the 900 Third Avenue office.
What You'll Do
Are you a hands-on operations leader who thrives in fast-paced professional environments and takes pride in running an office that truly works for its people?
As an Operations Manager, you will own the daily operations and strategic direction of the New York office located at 900 3rd Avenue. You'll play a visible leadership role, ensuring facilities, business services, and space planning run seamlessly while supporting attorneys, staff, and clients at the highest level. This role serves as a central advocate for the office; driving operational excellence, fostering a collaborative culture, and partnering across the Firm to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
This is a fully onsite role supporting a dynamic, high-performing office environment.
- Office Operations Leadership: Oversee daily operations across Facilities, Mailroom, Digital Services, Security, and Office Supplies to ensure a safe, efficient, and service-driven workplace.
- Facilities, Vendors & Property Management: Partner with building management and external vendors on maintenance, security, space planning, infrastructure, and life safety initiatives while ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
- Digital, Reprographics & Mailroom Services: Manage reprographics, digital services, and mailroom operations-including equipment, software, logistics, and vendor relationships-to meet service-level expectations.
- Security & Workplace Safety: Collaborate with local, Firmwide, and building security teams to maintain strong safety protocols and responsive operational support.
- Financial & Resource Management: Develop, monitor, and report on departmental budgets, staffing plans, office supplies inventory, and vendor contracts in alignment with Firm objectives.
- People Leadership, Collaboration & Projects: Lead and develop direct reports, partner cross-functionally with HR and administrative teams, and support space planning, office moves, and internal construction projects.
What You'll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: At least 5 years of operations management experience within a legal or professional services environment.
- Leadership Capability: Proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing teams while positively influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Operational Expertise: Strong background in facilities management, space utilization, internal construction projects, and support services.
- Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, staffing plans, and cost controls aligned with organizational objectives.
- Problem-Solving & Judgment: Ability to assess complex situations, make sound decisions, and deliver solutions in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
- Client Service Mindset: Demonstrated commitment to high-quality service, responsiveness, discretion, and professionalism.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with a polished professional presence.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Compensation
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in New York City. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:
New York City: $116,000 - $159,000
