Primary Purpose:

To provide front office support by greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, assisting staff, students, and parents, and performing clerical duties to ensure efficient daily campus operations.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Bilingual skills preferred
• Knowledge of PowerSchool
• Working knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets
• Ability to learn and utilize specialized therapeutic restraint techniques to control student behavior, when appropriate
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
• Proficient skills in typing, word processing, filing and account maintenance
• Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate and trouble-shoot computers and other office equipment
• Secretarial experience in a public education environment preferred
• Ability to use the English language proficiently
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations
• Ability to work within a specified behavior management system
• Ability to communicate effectively orally as well as written expression

Experience:

• One year of clerical experience
• Experience working with students with special needs and students in at-risk situations

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Serves as the primary point of contact for the campus by welcoming visitors, responding to inquiries, managing incoming calls, and providing clerical and administrative support in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Organize and manage the routine work activities.
3. Assist students, teachers and parents as needed.
4. Assist in compiling information for preparing various reports.
5. Receive incoming calls and route messages to appropriate staff.
6. Maintain proper files to include inventory of school supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communications.
7. Receive, store and issue supplies and equipment.
8. Sort, distribute or deliver mail and other documents.
9. Prepare instructional materials and meeting agendas.
10. Maintain a daily teacher attendance log and the records for substitute teachers.
11. Type all changes and adjustments in student schedules as requested.
12. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar -for principal, assistant principal as appropriate.
13. Perform routine bookkeeping tasks.
14. Input and maintain student attendance
15. Input student data such as monthly/weekly and discipline referrals to client districts
16. Keep informed of and comply with state, department, and division policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
17. Maintain confidentiality of information.
18. Treat all staff with dignity, integrity and respect.
19. Conduct physical searches as needed.
20. Perform other duties as assigned by the campus leadership.
