Basic Function : Fulfill the essential functions, as set forth in this job description, while maintaining a professional school administrative office atmosphere.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Performs usual office routines.
- Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
- Maintains faculty, student, and visitor records as required using Infinite Campus or other necessary recordkeeping tools.
- Receives and routes all incoming correspondence.
- Maintains a daily attendance log for students, and all staff assigned to the building (administrators, teachers, classified, and substitutes.)
- Operates word processors, computers, calculators, copiers, and facsimile machines.
- Assists in preparing instructional materials as requested by the administrator.
- Fulfills the duties of the nurse in her absence. Obtains proper medication administration certificate and any other certification that may be required.
- Coordinates and maintains cumulative student folders and special education files.
- Registers all students.
- Maintains purchasing procedures and accurate records of financial transactions for the building.
- Maintains confidentiality in all school building operations.
- Adheres to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, district board policies, and administrative rules.
- Demonstrates organization and professionalism in fulfilling responsibilities for the job.
- Completes required local state & federal reports as requested by the administrator.
- Performs duties and responsibilities as assigned by building administrator or superintendent.
Specifications/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent coursework in office practices
- Knowledge of computers, software programs, database, and spreadsheets
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, & faculty
- CCSD assigned trainings, including but not limited too; Bloodborne Pathogens, Chariton Code of Conduct, Chariton Tobacco & Substance Abuse, and Child Abuse.
