Provide leadership on defining, developing, and maintaining IT structures and processes to manage LPs digital assets relating to the execution of Capital Projects. This role manages internal and external engineering documentation, standardizes processes, and leads security coordination with LPs IT department. These initiatives aim to enhance document management, process standardization, quality assurance, and user accessibility in the development and oversight of LPs digital engineering assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Engineering Department document control processes and standards related to the technology required to successfully complete capital projects and to store digital assets for reference and revision. These processes and standards include but are not limited to: Microsoft Sharepoint Site Development and Maintenance, Sharepoint Workflow Development and Automation, CoPilot Agent development and deployment, 3D Modeling Standards, Point Cloud Standards, 2D Drawing Standards, and Document Management Protocols for active projects.
- Facilitate Microsoft SharePoint site assessments and improvement initiatives, plan and establish information architecture and governance frameworks, evaluate document management and control strategies, identify opportunities for automated workflows and search optimization, validate pilot activities, develop migration plans and content remediation strategies, and support user adoption initiatives.
- Coordinate IT protocols and standards development with LPs IT department to ensure security compliance.
- Manage the Engineering Departments software licensing requirements and provide first level support & training to LP Engineers on engineering software packages, standards, and documentation protocol processes.
- Provide LP engineering with annual updates & training on software package developments, new tools available, and protocol changes associated with software/IT system updates.
- Work with LP engineers to gather and properly archive controlled documents, equipment and facility drawings, reports, models, and point cloud assets from every completed project.
- Lead external engineering or personally execute an annual update of 2D General Arrangement facility drawings based on 3D modeling completed on Capital Projects the prior calendar year.
- Support LP engineering resources during active projects during the solicitation of survey, utility locate and point cloud services by providing the standards and requirements for deliverables.
- Provide support and training to external resources that work with LP to ensure LP protocols are executed.
- Partner with external design groups as necessary to guide the successful implementation of LPs design, Modeling, Scanning, and drafting standards.
- Support conceptual design support for engineering activities associated with strategic projects.
- Lead collection and data gathering efforts required to conduct engineering evaluations, scope of work development, preliminary or detailed design specifications, and coordination of installation or construction efforts related to strategic projects.
- Conduct special projects/studies, as opportunities arise, relating to technology opportunities and capital effectiveness.
- Work closely with other Corporate Functions including Information Technology, Operations, Environmental Services, Safety, Capital Procurement, Supply Management, Legal, Audit, Accounting, and Finance to assure conformance with corporate policies and fostered partnership with these functions that interact with Engineering.
- Assume responsibility for personal safety and for the safety performance of all personnel, projects, and programs managed.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Developer/Builder skillset for the Microsoft 365 Software Suite, including Sharepoint, Power Automate Workflows, CoPilot, Power BI, Excel, and Project.
- Thorough understanding of engineering software such as AutoDesk Software Suite, BIM 360 Project Management Software, Revit, Inventor, ReCap Reality Capture, and Navisworks.
- Knowledge of building products industry, construction industry, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes preferred.
- The ability to apply knowledge of technology and engineering to a variety of day-to-day work processes and capital project efforts.
- The ability to design and conduct pilots, analyze and interpret data, and provide recommendations to the Engineering Leadership Team.
- The ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice and efficiency gain.
- The ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs.
- The ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
- The ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.

Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience as a practicing professional in one or more of the following fields: engineering, capital project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering and technology protocols.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and processes in a matrix organization.
- Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- BS in Engineering, Applied Science, or related field.
- Software certifications are desirable.
**(BS equivalency = 7-10 years in a Design Engineering role supporting capital project implementation)
Work Environment- This is a primarily remote position.
- Flexibility regarding working hours may be required for project support across the US and Canadian time zones.
- Light travel is required for project and department meetings at LP Headquarters in Nashville, TN, LP manufacturing mills, or other central locations.
