- The city, with the engineering division serving as the project manager, is undertaking a 20-year facility master plan effort. This position will be a key stakeholder in the process and will help develop a short- and long-term strategy to maintain the existing facilities and plan for the future.
- This position will work within a department that spans all public works services. Not only will you get to work with, influence, and learn from other managers, but you will be supported by a communication coordinator, business management staff and an asset management team.
- Over the past several years, the department has embraced an asset management culture, one supported by data. This position will play a key leadership role in modernizing the facility and fleet divisions.
- The Police and Public Works Departments are in need of new or improved facilities. This position will play a critical role in maintaining current facilities and simultaneously developing a strategy for constructing new facilities.

- A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in facility and fleet management, OR a related field with supplemental training in vehicle mechanics, facility operations, maintenance, and/or construction AND
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in fleet maintenance and building/facilities management or some combination that provides the necessary skills in the required areas AND
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years.
