Raymond Laborde Correctional Center, located in Cottonport, LA, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to assist in the daily operations of the Mental Health Department. As the Administrative Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the in the support of the Mental Health team. Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.   • Prepares, prints, and distributes daily callouts for all Mental Health group classes and individual appointments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with facility procedures.
  • Adds, updates, and removes offender information across multiple secure databases, maintaining data integrity and adherence to confidentiality standards.
  • Generates callouts and transmits required documentation via fax and other approved methods for two Primary Mental Health Nurse Practitioners assigned to RLCC.
  • Compiles, prepares, and formats Mental Health reports , including attendance logs, program participation summaries, and departmental activity reports for internal and external review.
  • Retrieves and provides Mental Health records upon authorized request, ensuring proper tracking, documentation, and secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Serves as the primary timekeeper for the Mental Health Department, maintaining accurate timesheets, leave records, and payroll-related documentation in accordance with agency policy.
  • Processes, sorts, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail for Mental Health staff, ensuring timely routing and compliance with facility procedures.
  • Files and organizes departmental documentation in both paper and electronic formats, maintaining orderly, up-to-date records that support audits, accreditation, and operational needs.
  • Coordinates with security, classification, and clinical staff to ensure smooth scheduling, offender movement, and program operations.
  • Provides general administrative support including correspondence preparation, data entry, scheduling assistance, and supply management to support daily Mental Health Department functions.

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
  • This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
