Overview
The Tax Administrator supports the Tax Team to ensure timely and accurate compliance, preparation and filing of all federal, state and local tax obligations. In addition, the Tax Administrator supports the Tax Team in other accounting and administration activities. The role works closely with both internal teams and external parties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and organize tax return information and enter information into tax preparation software
Coordinate payment of estimated tax payments, tax return payments and extension payments by required due date, including maintenance of EFTPS bulk application
Coordinate signatures for officers/shareholders as needed via Docusign
Summarize information necessary to support calculations of quarterly estimated tax payments
Administer the electronic filing of internally prepared tax returns, liaise with CCH to resolve issues related to tax preparation software and manage administrative tasks related to tax preparation software
Prepare and coordinate responses to government authority notices as needed, including preparation of any necessary powers of attorney, and maintain mailing receipts and mail log for responses sent
Download and organize monthly bank statements, prepare bank reconciliations, payment of taxpayer expenses as needed, and other accounting assignments as assigned
Maintenance of Team task calendar and Team Outlook inbox to ensure timely completion of tasks
Maintenance of refund tracker, including follow-up on any outstanding items
Coordinate payment of Team administrative expenses and expense reports
Shareholder support as needed
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 1 to 2 years' experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient use of MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams)
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work cross-functionally
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including solid organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Willingness to learn and expand your skills
Ability to work independently
