Data Entry Clerk (Manufacturing) Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Entry Clerk to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for managing order data, tracking production progress, and ensuring accuracy from order entry through invoicing. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset to support both internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter and maintain customer orders and production data in company systems Monitor orders throughout the production lifecycle to ensure timelines and specifications are met Review and verify order details for accuracy prior to invoicing Coordinate with production, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies Serve as a point of contact for order status updates and customer inquiries Utilize Excel to track orders, maintain reports, and analyze data trends Prepare and provide required documentation and materials to accounting for month-end close Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all order-related activities Identify and escalate issues impacting order accuracy, delivery, or billing Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred 2+ years of data entry, administrative, or order processing experience (manufacturing environment preferred) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, spreadsheets, data tracking) Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume data environments Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Skills Experience with ERP or order management systems Familiarity with production workflows in a manufacturing environment Basic understanding of accounting processes, particularly invoicing and month-end close Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
