The Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS) provides customer service and operational support to ODJFS through five bureaus: Business Services, Civil Rights and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Multimedia Services, and Training and Educational Services. What You Will Do:
Serve as the first point of contact at the agency's front desk, providing professional and courteous assistance to staff, partners, and the public.
Support the Director's learning initiatives (i.e. Topic of the Month), including list management, and alignment with leadership priorities.
Support the Training & Educational Services bureau with administrative tasks that advance office and agency initiatives.
Handle confidential information responsibly and maintain accurate, complete records.
Day-to-Day You Will:
Welcome and assist all Director's Office floor visitors, verify identification, and escort individuals to secure locations in accordance with safety and security protocols.
Answer, route, and triage incoming calls in alignment with agency service standards.
Maintain front desk procedures, call trees, and visitor management checklists.
Manage lists, communications, resources, and reports for bi-monthly learning initiatives.
Provide administrative support to Training and Educational Services.
Necessary Skills:
Strong customerservice skills with the ability to professionally engage internal and external visitors.
Excellent communication skills, including callhandling and written communication.
High attention to detail and accuracy across recordkeeping, documentation, and compliance.
Ability to follow and enforce safety and security protocols consistently.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Competence in supporting administrative, training, and programcoordination activities.
Schedule: Full-time.
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Location: James A. Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 E. Broad St., 32nd Floor, Columbus, OH 43215.
Travel: Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
Option 1:
Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college;
AND 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Option 2:
- 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Option 3:
- 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2,16872.
Option 4:
- Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 10. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $26.92 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
