This position is in the Financial Responsibilities Research Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities of the Office Supervisor II
- Supervises all aspects of the assigned work unit and process transactions as necessary.
- Interprets DMV laws and procedures for employees.
- Completes Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) reviews for all employees in assigned work unit by scheduled due date.
- Diffuses all problems that may arise within the unit or amongst other units.
- Answers technical and complex questions for DMV personnel.
- Supervises the screening, interviews, selection and training of new employees. Evaluates the work of personnel, recommends promotions, disciplinary actions, reviews, approves or disapproves employee leave request and ensures adequate coverage for the work unit.
- Proactively communicates notable improvement, issues and problems to the unit manager.
- Seeks improvements to existing service delivery through communication and idea generation.
- Communicates with internal and external customers and handles escalated customer complaints.
- Solicits employee suggestions for continuous improvement. Addresses employee concerns.
- Ensures necessary reports are generated and maintained.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Agency Requirements
- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to plan, organize, direct and review the work of subordinates.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex policies and procedures to customers and employees.
- Ability to write clear, concise instructions and reports.
- Responsible for supervising small work unit.
- May be required to work extended hours outside the normal scheduled work week.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
- May require limited travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Agency Preferred
- A high school diploma and 4 years of revelant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
