Hiring Unit:
Student Services - Music (Nancy Czemmel)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Student Services, Schulich School of Music, the assistant will ensure the smooth coordination and organization of the Schulich School of Music Wellness Fair 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaises with clients and speakers to determine event requirements and discuss arrangements.
  • Coordinates all logistics and planning of the event including location, room bookings, equipment, setup, seating and catering.
  • Create content for student feedback survey, website, social media and promotional materials
  • Acts as a liaison between the unit and internal or external parties to provide various assistance or information.
  • Communicates, follows up, and gathers information from various parties as needed
  • Assist with set-up and take-down materials for the Wellness Fair.
  • Acts as a resource person to resolve various issues that may arise during the planning, scheduling promoting setting up and following up on Wellness Fair.
  • Assist the WellCom Team with tasks such as taking minutes, organizing meetings, and preparing agenda and documents as needed.
  • Maintains and track expenses associate with Wellness Fair.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge of music and music materials, preferably with some formal training.
  • Great verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing support for various administrative activities.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive and relay information with accuracy, work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the McGill University student resources and the Schulich School of Music undergraduate and graduate programs is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ease and flexibility with technological applications with a proven ability to work using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and social media platforms.
  • Experience in the production of posters and promotional material an asset. English and French, spoken and written.

Preference given to a currently registered student in the Schulich School of Music.

Up to a max of 5 hours per week. Hours of work will be established by the supervisor and there is no guarantee of a pre-determined schedule, or a minimum number of hours of work.

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4 .
