Job DetailsThe Unit Clerk serves as the operational and administrative hub of the nursing floor. This role manages patient records, handles floor communications, coordinates logistics, and interfaces directly with medical staff, residents, and families. By combining clerical expertise with a clinical CNA background, the Unit Clerk ensures smooth unit operations, regulatory compliance, and efficient information flow in a fast-paced long-term care setting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage Medical Records: Oversee patient documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining strict regulatory charting protocols and privacy compliance.
- Coordinate Communication: Manage the nurse's station phone lines, answer resident call lights promptly, relay vital messages, and route information to nurses and doctors.
- Logistics & Inventory: Monitor and replenish medical and office supplies on the floor to keep the unit fully operational.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate resident medical appointments and organize necessary transportation logistics.
- Interpersonal Support: Act as the primary professional link for communication among healthcare teams, residents, visitors, and family members.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required; diploma or relevant secondary certifications preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care or Nursing Home facility is required.
- Skills: Strong organizational capabilities, basic computer proficiency (data entry/keyboarding), knowledge of medical terminology, and exceptional customer service skills.
- Mandatory Certification: Must possess a valid, current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New York State. Applications without a verified NYS CNA license will not be considered.
USD $25.62 - USD $32.01 /Hr.

The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive , differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
