About the Role:A Health Records Clerk is responsible for:
All aspects of chart management including retrieval, reconciliation of all charts received, Prep/ Scan/ Index patient record to electronic chart, front desk coverage, dealing with public and burning diagnostic images onto CD, releasing bodies and dealing with Autopsy and coroner cases.
Monitoring and managing the chart completion system (quantitative analysis) and assists with ensuring the accuracy of the ADT/Health Records system
Participating as a member of the general office team to provide Health Record Services for the facility.
What you bring:
- High School Diploma
- Medical Terminology Course
- Previous experience in a Health Record Department is an asset.
- Six months of previous experience in an office setting, including reception duties, required.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Projected hours of work are 7:00 am - 3:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Time Management and Organizational abilities including demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritize and function in a changing and sometimes stressful work environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to analyze information and make appropriate decisions
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of the hospital computer systems
- Knowledge of Release of Patient Information Policies
- Ability to maintain an effective relationship with peers, medical and hospital staff
- Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Innovative and willing to learn
- Demonstrates individual leadership skills
