Credentialing / Administrative Coordinator, FT Days (56478) El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905 Apply Overview Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Category Administrative - Clerical Apply Description Responsible for ensuring that the processing of initial and re-credentialing applications meet The Joint Commission standards, and state and federal credentialing regulations. Coordinates and manages credentialing and Medical Staff activities for the Medical Staff. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to determine the appropriateness of information provided by applicants and verification requests. Establishes and maintains relationships with outside agencies to obtain required credentialing information. Provides Administrative support to the Director for Medical Staff for governing document revisions, Delineated Privilege forms, and credentialing criteria updates and maintenance, event presentations such as Physician Forums and Physician Engagement Survey. Position is critical to the growth, maintenance and continued accreditation of the Medical Staff. This position reports to the Medical Staff Director. Qualifications Work Experience: Three (3) years work experience in hospital credentialing. License/Registration/Certification: Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a CPCS or CPMSM preferred. Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent. Skills: Knowledge of hospital or managed care credentialing procedures, including temporary privileging and privilege delineation. Knowledge of The Joint Commission Medical Staff standards. Proficiency in medical terminology. Proficiency in use of personal computer, Windows, Microsoft Word and credentialing software. Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication and in ability to independently prepare memoranda, letters, reports and other communications related to the credentialing process. Demonstrated professionalism, tact and sound judgment in the representation of the medical staff to internal and external personnel or agencies. Ability to independently organize and prioritize tasks. Good overall knowledge of Medical Staff Office practices, procedures and guidelines. Ability to seek out new methods and principles to improve services. Ability to display attention to detail. Ability to think critically. Knowledge of credentialing and privileging procedures and standards and applicable accreditation and provider certification requirements Strong customer service orientation. Bilingual English/Spanish-preferred. Basic knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order. Share job details to
