Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Siding Operations Manager to join Empire Envelope in Calgary, AB. The Siding Operations Manager is responsible for process improvement and operational support position embedded within the Siding and Exteriors department. You work alongside and in support of the existing Siding Division Manager and team, stepping into functional gaps as needed to strengthen systems, build team capability, and support the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Senior management participation occurs as directed by the Siding Division Manager.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identifying gaps in existing workflows across estimating, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination and develop practical, repeatable solutions.
  • Designing and documenting standard operating procedures, templates, and checklists that reduce rework and create consistency across projects.
  • Embedding quality assurance checkpoints into project workflows and refining processes continuously based on field feedback and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Siding and Exteriors team to maintain compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Team Support & Coaching

  • Providing day-to-day coaching and mentorship to field supervisors and siding professionals under the direction of the Siding Division Manager.
  • Supporting performance development conversations, team meetings, and on-site check-ins.
  • Supporting field supervisors to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assisting in onboarding new team members, subcontractors, and suppliers in support of a collaborative, accountable work culture.

Operational Task Support

  • Supporting the preparation of cost estimates, project timelines, and resource plans as required.
  • Executing procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of cladding materials
  • Performing tasks associated with subcontractor coordination, invoice review, and pay approval workflows to improve consistency and reduce financial risk.
  • Stepping into operational gaps across the department as directed, acting as a flexible resource to keep projects and processes on track..
  • Providing redundant support for the Siding Division Manager’s responsibilities during absences

Reporting

  • Contributing to billing projections, cost reporting, and monthly operational summaries in support of the Siding Division Manager.
  • Participating in meetings with the Regional Manager, Siding Division Manager, Business Relationship Manager, and other senior leaders as directed.

Essential Requirements

  • Diploma/Certification in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of mid-level management experience in related industry.
  • Any additional experience/skills/knowledge preferred, if any.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational habits with experience in personnel management.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and other software required within role.

Working Conditions

You primarily work in an office environment during regular business hours, with frequent site visits. Occasional overtime may be required.
