Seasonal Visitor Services Associate
Description:
Trinity Church in the City of Boston is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and customer service-oriented individual to join our team for the summer as a Seasonal Part Time Visitor Services Associate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional visitor experiences and a desire to the history and beauty of Trinity Church with others. As a Visitor Services Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all Trinity visitors, ensuring they have an engaging and memorable experience.
Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and wee visitors to Trinity Church, providing them with a warm and hospitable experience.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash register reconciliation and shop set-up/break-down
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operation, including set-up and break-down of Audio Tour and shop display tables.
- Assist visitors with purchasing tickets for tours, as well as processing payments and selling shop merchandise
- Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to visitor services such as greeting and directing guests, responding to inquiries, and monitoring the flow of visitors
- Maintain andanize visitor information materials, brochures, and admission stickers.
- Act as a knowledgeable and friendly resource for visitors, answering inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Cooperate with other Trinity Church staff to facilitate visitors' experiences.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager of Visitor Services.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work weekends, as shifts will mostly be Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
- Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills plus the ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals
- Strong attention to detail andanizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks while working independently as well as part of a team
- A passion for art and cultural history, knowledge of the history and architecture of Trinity Church is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position with a range of 5 to 15 hours per week. The schedule may vary and will include weekends and a potential weekday. The Visitor Services Associate will work primarily in the Narthex and other public areas of the church. This position requires working in a historic building, along with the occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and some extended periods of standing, though seating is available.
