IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR - Building Principal
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM - Building administrators, district leadership
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION - Under general supervision, provides telephone or direct contact reception, provides a variety of office support services and related tasks as required, and maintains accurate records of student daily attendance.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer with experience in Google Docs and Sheets, printer/copier, telephone, etc.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Must be able to interact positively with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members of various backgrounds.
Education
High School Diploma Required.
One year of specialized training beyond high school preferred.
Experience
- Two years of experience as an executive secretary or office manager preferred.
Equipment
- Office equipment such as computers, two-way radios, multi-line phone system, cell phone, copier, and fax machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Greet parents, faculty, and students.
Monitor and manage building visitors, volunteers, and guest teachers.
Keep an accurate list of calls, messages, information requests, meetings and appointments, and discipline referrals for the principal and dean of students when necessary.
Manage and maintain student arrivals and dismissals during the school day.
Maintain student attendance records.
Refer students to the principal when necessary.
Enter student conduct referrals from teachers into the computer and distribute copies to the proper recipients.
Assist with basic office operations; photocopy, sort incoming mail and printing, order office forms, etc.
Assist the principal secretary in daily duties.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain a reliable attendance record.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS -
- None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -
- Requires eye/hand/arm coordination and dexterity of fingers and hands in keyboarding, calculating, and fingering and grasping small objects normally weighing less than 10 lbs.
- Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.
- Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
- Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS -
- Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
- Occasional meetings outside the school day.
- Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
