Summary
Provides overall administrative support to a department or group during the summer. Relieves supervisor of non-routine administrative tasks, including office bookkeeping, communications, customer service, correspondence, scheduling, staff/faculty support, and overseeing student employees. May maintain department e-mails and website content.

Essential Functions
Opens the office during the summer.
Serves as receptionist. Greets and directs visitors, students, and faculty. Answers department phone, responds to inquiries and/or redirects calls appropriately.
Prepares and/or transmits written correspondence and other materials through e-mail, SMS (text), fax or hard copy. Oversees incoming and outgoing mail.
Maintains office equipment and troubleshoots issues.
Registers students for services using NAVIGATE and CANVAS, updates department schedules and generates rosters.
Provides evaluation feedback for student assistants. Approves student time. Supports staff with timecard inputs.
Orders office supplies and books as necessary.
Maintains department emails, SMS, fax, and website content.
Minimum Qualifications
One-year office/supervisory related experience required.

Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written
Detailed-oriented and highly accurate
Ability to work in changing environment
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty and/or staff or the public and represent BGSU appropriately
Ability to coordinate or lead others in accomplishing work activities
Knowledge of computer skills, such as MS Office, presentations, spreadsheets and/or database entry/query
Ability to query, run reports and modify data in spreadsheet systems
Ability to access and maintain document imaging systems, including scanning and filing documents
Ability to operate computers and peripheral equipment such as printers
Ability to draft office correspondence
Ability to motivate students and team members
Additional Information
Teaching and Learning Center Summer Office Manager: 20 hrs/wk: 7:50 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mon. - Thurs.
Compensation $18.47/hr.
Start: May 11 - August 14, 2026 (days of training hours may extend until 4 p.m. May 11-12-13-14-18-19-20-21)
