The City of Norwalk Police Department is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a part-time Records Clerk (1015 hours per week) . This position plays an important role in supporting daily police operations and serving the community by providing front-line assistance at the Public Safety Building.
As a Records Clerk, you will be at the center of department activitywelcoming the public, assisting with records and data entry, supporting officers and administrative staff, and helping ensure the smooth operation of the office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support for the Office Coordinator
Greets walk-in customers and directs them to the appropriate staff
Answers the telephone, directing calls to the appropriate City staff.
Schedules appointments
Files records
locates records in the database
Performs data entry
Assists with community outreach programs
Performs administrative support during the absences of regular support staff or as assigned
Assists with creating social media content
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Entry Requirements and Skills:
Must be 18 years of age at the time of employment
High school graduate
Working knowledge of office procedures and ability to utilize general office equipment
Proficiency in Google platforms and Microsoft Office.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Experience in clerical work and customer service preferred.
Licenses and Certificates
Valid Iowa driver's license
Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication:
Requires effective communication skills and the ability to assist employees and the general public.
