Job Description
The Jaffrey Rindge Cooperative School District office of Student Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time, year-round position supporting the Student Services (Special Education) department district-wide and includes wonderful benefits, including health, dental, retirement, and paid sick and vacation time.
Education and Experience:
*Minimum of an Associate Degree or 3-5 years of office experience required
*Clerical or business office training or experience is desirable
*Special education office/public school experience preferred
Job Skills and Knowledge:
*Ability to plan and organize workflow, schedules, and procedures for administrative staff.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including using a phone.
* Proficiency with technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Platform, and website editing.
* Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
* Bookkeeping, including purchase requisitions and orders, supporting the Director in budgeting, and vendor relations
*Organizing and filing skills.
* Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
* Working knowledge of Special Services Office Assistant duties.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ability to effectively use and operate office equipment, including, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
* Manage purchasing/receiving for a variety of vendors.
* Manage budget encumbrances.
* Maintain foundational information for financial reimbursements.
* Learn and interpret rules, regulations, laws, instructions, and procedures.
* Learn and maintain student data in the New Hampshire Special Education Information System.
* Handle routine telephone communications, correspondence, mail, petty cash, etc.
* Oversee communication with the transportation company and the District.
* Support the Director with all budget needs and transfers.
* Support the Director with the creation of reports as needed and/or appropriate.
* Manage employee stipend forms.
* Support secure maintenance of student records in accordance with District policy and all applicable laws.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of student and staff concerns, student records, and data.
* Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
