We are hiring a full-time, permanent Specialist, Data Analytics position working out of Edmonton, AB.
The Data Analytics Specialist is accountable for supporting the optimization of transmission asset data, analytics workflows, and asset health tools. In this role, you will develop and maintain highquality datasets, analytical models, dashboards, and data pipelines that enable informed asset planning, risk management, and investment decisions.
What you'd be responsible for
Develop, implement, and maintain analytical models, dashboards, and visualization tools that support asset health, risk, and lifecycle planning
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment across ERP, GIS, Asset Health Index (AHI), and related systems through validation, reconciliation, and data quality monitoring.
Design, enhance, and manage data pipelines and data structures to support analytics, reporting, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and stakeholders to identify analytical opportunities that improve reliability, maintenance strategies, and capital planning
Define functional requirements, user stories, and analytical specifications for data and technology initiatives
Support evaluation and pilot implementation of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, drones, IoT sensors, digital twins) through data preparation and analysis
Contribute to longterm digital and analytics roadmaps by identifying capability gaps and improvement opportunities
Work with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure analytical outputs support auditability, traceability, and reporting needs
Prioritize analytics requests, manage delivery timelines, and continuously improve tools and workflows within established governance frameworks
Uphold EPCOR's safety, sustainability, and performance standards in all work activities
What's required to be successful
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field is required
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in an assetintensive environment (utilities, energy, water, or infrastructure)
Experience in transmission or electricity utility environments is an asset
Professional certifications in analytics, asset management, or digital technologies is an asset
Strong understanding of asset management principles, including lifecycle planning, risk frameworks, condition assessment, and capital planning
Handson experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), including master data structures and maintenance modules
Proven experience with data governance, data quality management, and analytics stewardship practices
Proficiency with analytics tools and languages such as Power BI, SQL, Python, and/or cloudbased analytics platforms
Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, drones, IoT sensors, EMS/SCADA systems, digital twins, or remote monitoring solutions is an asset
Ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights and decisionsupport tools
Strong communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and engage both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment
